Boca residents seek County Commission seat

“An experienced politician faces a political newcomer in the District 4 race for Palm Beach County Commission. Robert Weinroth is a former Boca Raton city council member who has served on numerous public advisory boards. His opponent, William “Billy” Vale, says he learned the inner workings of government in a more informal way, as his homeowners’ association became embroiled in a dispute over the future of a closed golf course, Mizner Trail, that snaked through their neighborhood . . .” — Lois K. County Commissioner Candidate Billy Vale: Susan Haynie’s Arrest for Corrupt Misuse of Public Office Is No Surprise in Developer-Dominated Palm Beach County

BOCA RATON, FL — William “Billy” Vale, Republican primary candidate for Palm Beach County Commissioner for District 4, said it is no surprise that his former opponent Susan Haynie was arrested on charges that she lied about money she took from developers and hid more than $335,000 in income.

“For years, too many public officials have consistently sided with developers’ interests over residents’ demands to protect their property values and quality of life. The power imbalance has resulted in waivers and rezoning for one massive development after another, but taxpayers are left to pay the bill for overcrowded schools, roads, loss of green space and more,” he said.

“I applaud the grassroots efforts that initiated the investigation into these ethics violations. We must stop the corruption,” said Vale.

About Billy Vale
William “Billy” Vale has lived and worked in Palm Beach County for 25 years. He has served his community as a 3-term board member of the Boca Del Mar Improvement Association (BDMIA). Boca Del Mar is the state’s largest and oldest Planned Unit Development with over 12,000 registered voters. As a grassroots advocate, Billy Vale has led the fight against over-development and to secure compensation for owners who paid a premium to be on the course. He holds a BS degree in Management from Florida State and a Master’s degree in International Business from Nova Southeastern.
